ANNOUNCEMENT: FACULTY POSITION IN MATHEMATICAL PHYSICS

The Institute of Physics at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC), Santiago, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, to start as early as March 2021, to join the Mathematical Physics Research Group. UC is a traditional university ranked number one in Latin America according to the QS ranking. More information about the Institute can be found athttp://fisica.uc.cl.

The Institute of Physics seeks strong candidates with academic experience abroad who can contribute to the excellence and diversity of the Institute community through compelling research, teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, and administrative duties.

The successful candidate is expected to have an excellent background in both disciplines, Physics and Mathematics. We welcome strong candidates from all areas of Mathematical Physics with preference for those with potential interaction with the established research areas at the Institute such as Spectral Theory, Quantum Physics, and Non-linear Physics.

The candidate should be able to teach a variety of standard undergraduate and graduate physics courses. The ability to teach in English and Spanish is expected after one year.

• Statement of past research achievements and future research plan,
• Statement of teaching interests at undergraduate and graduate levels,
• Two recommendation letters sent directly by the recommenders.
